Homeowners Select Persian Kashan Rug from Bucks County Oriental Rug Store Brandon Oriental Rugs (www.BrandonRugs.com) for Family Room of Their Upper Montgomery County Farmhouse

Our customers, have a lovely home near the Greenlane Reservoir in Upper Montgomery County, and have decorated it throughout with beautiful handmade oriental rugs. After many years they decided they wanted to move a rug they'd been using in their family room to another location in the home, and asked us for help in finding a suitable replacement for the room. Their stipulations were that they wanted a real hand-knotted rug, preferably made in Iran, with rich colors, and well-made for a heavily used room that frequently hosts gatherings of their large family.

The rug they selected is a 3-meter x 4-meter hand-knotted Persian "Gul-Kashan" that they were able to acquire at a very attractive price (considering the current trade embargo trade with Iran) thanks to a generous promotion by our source.

Rich in color, and nicely detailed, the rug provides elegance in keeping with the rest of our customer's home, while being comfortable and practical for a lifetime of use in their family room.

Doylestown, PA Homeowner Finds Oriental Rug to Complete Furnishing of Family Room with Help From Brandon Oriental Rugs - www.BrandonRugs.com

Our customer, who discovered Brandon Oriental Rugs via an internet search, invited us to help her find a rug to complete her recently refurnished family room.

She has two small children (one a toddler) and wanted her rug to be durable; resistant to dirt and stains; easy to keep clean; and soft to the touch (to assure soft landings for her toddler). She had already done a lot of research online about area rugs; and had tried some selections from other sources which turned out to lack the quality she wanted. By the time she engaged our services she knew that only a real, hand-knotted oriental rug would do; though she wasn't sure exactly what kind or style would be most suitable for her.
Initially she thought a 9x12 rug would be best for the room, but pictures shared with us suggested that a 10x14 deserved consideration too: an idea to which she was open provided it did not explode her budget. The following "before" and "after" pictures demonstrate what the patience and resolve she brought to her rug search enabled her to accomplish.

Two presentations in our customer's home with rugs of various sizes, styles and colorways were necessary to help her and her husband decide on the rug seen here. While some of the other ideas presented had merit, this rug really stood out as "made for the room".
(After more than twenty-five years involved in rugs and interior design, we've learned not to doubt the adage believed by many of the venerable older Persian rug importers that "every handmade rug finds its rightful home at last." We congratulate our customer for her selection, and for recognizing the moment when one rug from among all those available to her turned out to have arrived at its true home.)

Lehigh Valley Homeowner ( Bethlehem, PA ) with Help From Bucks County Oriental Rug Store Brandon Oriental Rugs - www.BrandonRugs.com - Finds a Handmade Area Rug to Complete Family Room

The rug shown here was selected to complete a family room in a Bethlehem, PA home, which had been completely furnished (except for the rug) by the homeowners with help from their designer at Hendrixson's Fine Furnishings (Furlong, PA and Shimersville,PA).

The panel field design -- almost patchwork or quilt-like in conception -- imparted less formality to the rug, making it a relaxed fit with the fine leather furnishings. The finely knotted detail in the rug (approximately 210 hand-tied knots/square inch), and it's authentic antique reproduction finishing, appealed to the refined tastes of the homeowners seeking to make quality decisions at every step in the furnishing of their new home.

The rug size selected (approximately 9x12) allowed for an open walkway on the left side of the rug (leading to French doors opening to the patio); and for the sofa and love seat to be properly positioned (the same distance in on their respective borders) without encroaching into the field design. (The rug is also centered in the room between the far wall and the wall behind the love-seat; comfortably offset from the hearth and providing ample room on the far side of the rug for a luxurious bed to accommodate the family's best friend.)

[ This rug was selected by the homeowners after a process which began when they were referred to us by their designer. We subsequently visited their home to get an idea of what they had accomplished already, and what they were seeking to do with the introduction of a rug. Based on that visit and a discussion of their objectives, we collected a number of rugs from our many sources and made them available for preview at our store. Our customers then visited our store, and chose several rugs they really liked from the selections we had made on their behalf. We then delivered them to their home for them to evaluate for appropriateness in conjunction with what was already in place in their room. From those choices, the rug you see above was decided upon, and has become a treasured part of their home.
