A composite view of hand-knotted oriental rug from Bucks County, PA #rugstore Brandon Oriental Rugs - www.BrandonRugs.com - selected for newly furnished living room of new #townhome in #LowerGwynedd PA. The "before images" of the small intimate room and closeup of the chair and #windowtreatment #fabrics show why the homeowner's decision to use a rug with subdued pattern and palette was inspired.

The image shows the before appearance of the living room belonging to homeowners in Lower Gwynedd, PA who used Bucks County, PA oriental rug store Brandon Oriental Rugs to help them find a rug. Also included in the composite image are the fabrics in their room; which limited to some degree the rug choices they felt comfortable using. Finally the rug they ultimately selected is seen. Offering some color and pattern, the 8x10 hand-knotted Peshawar rug (an adapted Agra design made in Pakistan with handwoven Ghazni wool dyed with vegetal dyes) is nonetheless a subdued complement and understated background for the intimacy of the small room, already richly detailed and colorful.

Having in prior years selected several other richly detailed and boldy colored rugs from Brandon Oriental Rugs for their previous home, the decision to keep this rug low key was inspired.

Persian Oriental Rug Completes Family Room Addition to Town Home Renovation in Doylestown, PA (PHOTOS)

Our customers, who own a home in the center of Doylestown selected a Persian Kashan design rug from Brandon Oriental Rugs (www.BrandonRugs.com) to complete the family room they added to their home as part of a whole house renovation project.

The room before introducing the rug is seen above. (The table was custom made by our customer from the cross-section of a trunk of an old oak tree from his property.)

As part of the renovation, the homeowners installed a small gas fireplace in the far corner of the area added to the back of their home. This feature placed some constraints on the optimal size of the area rug they were able to select. (The hearth and firebox surround are finished with custom designed Peace Valley tiles.)

When our customers visited our store they instantly recognized the rug they were were seeking (and needed) for their room. The palette of colors in the hand-knotted Persian Kashan looks as if it was custom ordered for the pale green walls and denim blue sofa. Also, because it is a Persian rug, its dimensons (based on metric rather than English standard of measurement) are slightly elongated. This rug is 8'3" x 11'6" and works perfectly in the space. The common 8x10, 8x11 or 9x12 sizes would not have offerered the same tailored-fit look.

Amazing (But Not Uncommon) Tale of Endurance About a Family's Oriental Rug (PHOTO)

Our customer, working through her designer in Chalfont, PA, purchased this rug from Brandon Oriental Rugs in 2005. She called today and asked us to take the rug for cleaning after ten years of hard daily use in the family room of her home.

When we arrived and examined the rug for intake, we could NOT in good conscience offer to clean the rug, or charge for service that the rug in fact does not need.

The rug is as good as new (excepting a little section of worn fringe.)

Think about it: a light color, hand-knotted oriental rug in a room where it has endured ten years of busy family life. We could not find a spot upon it. We detected no signs of wear or damage (other than the fringe eaten by the vacuum cleaner). There was no odor in the rug. And there was no dirt evident anywhere on the surface of the rug or under it (where truthfully it can accumulate over time.)

Our customer confessed to vacuuming once or twice a week; and no more.

If this had been a piece of carpet, wouldn't it need replacement at this point? If this had been a tufted (so-called handmade) rug, it definitely would have had an odor; it definitely would have had lots of decaying latex rubber dust underneath; and it definitely would not be worth cleaning.

Granted, our customer spent more for their rug than if she had decided to buy carpet, or a machine-made or tufted area rug. But this real oriental rug still has its original value; and still has a lifetime (a human lifetime) of use ahead of it. Those other choices would be worthless at this point, having spent their usefulness; and beyond hope of being cleaned or repaired to extend utility.

Please join us in applauding our customer for a great choice ten years ago: a REAL smart choice.

Lehigh Valley Homeowner ( Bethlehem, PA ) with Help From Bucks County Oriental Rug Store Brandon Oriental Rugs - www.BrandonRugs.com - Finds a Handmade Area Rug to Complete Family Room

The rug shown here was selected to complete a family room in a Bethlehem, PA home, which had been completely furnished (except for the rug) by the homeowners with help from their designer at Hendrixson's Fine Furnishings (Furlong, PA and Shimersville,PA).

Antique Reproduction Persian Tabriz Design Rug (India 14/70)

The panel field design -- almost patchwork or quilt-like in conception -- imparted less formality to the rug, making it a relaxed fit with the fine leather furnishings. The finely knotted detail in the rug (approximately 210 hand-tied knots/square inch), and it's authentic antique reproduction finishing, appealed to the refined tastes of the homeowners seeking to make quality decisions at every step in the furnishing of their new home.

The rug size selected (approximately 9x12) allowed for an open walkway on the left side of the rug (leading to French doors opening to the patio); and for the sofa and love seat to be properly positioned (the same distance in on their respective borders) without encroaching into the field design. (The rug is also centered in the room between the far wall and the wall behind the love-seat; comfortably offset from the hearth and providing ample room on the far side of the rug for a luxurious bed to accommodate the family's best friend.)

[     This rug was selected by the homeowners after a process which began when they were referred to us by their designer. We subsequently visited their home to get an idea of what they had accomplished already, and what they were seeking to do with the introduction of a rug. Based on that visit and a discussion of their objectives, we collected a number of rugs from our many sources and made them available for preview at our store. Our customers then visited our store, and chose several rugs they really liked from the selections we had made on their behalf. We then delivered them to their home for them to evaluate for appropriateness in conjunction with what was already in place in their room. From those choices, the rug you see above was decided upon, and has become a treasured part of their home.

Brandon Oriental Rugs is committed to making this same level of service available to all of our customers. This commitment sets us apart from stores that seek to rush you to a decision, whether based on a limited-time offer, or on the challenges presented to you by the store's limited offers of service.]
