Brandon Oriental Rugs -- Previous #customers who own a lovely #home in #Doylestown PA invited us to help them again to find a #real #handmade #rug to advance the #repurposing of their #livingroom . There were #budget constraints that #challenged us to #stretch the #resources of our proprietary #supply #network to the #limits . It took some #time ("the difficult we do right away, the impossible takes a little longer.") but the result (to very good #effect ) is evident in the #image . The #homeowners still have a lot of extra #redesign work to complete, but they can now begin to use their new room in the intended way right away.

Brandon Oriental Rugs -- Sadly, some in possession of veritable #rug #treasure are succumbing to a #current #fad for so-called #overdyed rugs. Color is stripped from the old rug and it is re-dyed in a monochromatic palette. The diminished quality of the finished product does not make the cost of it less, but does supposedly make it appealing to a broader market. "There's no disputing taste" is better understood as "There is no disputing what constitutes GOOD TASTE." Since when has destruction of an #artwork been considered #goodtaste ?

Brandon Oriental Rugs -- Hand-knotted #antique #reproduction Persian Sarouk #orientalrug #runner selected from #Brandon by #NewHope #homeowners for the main section of their #entryhall #stairway . Normally, we prefer to finish the runner on the top riser under the landing, but this runner was a foot too long for that solution. The runner could be cut to fit, but the buyers had an existing antique Hamadan runner that was near perfect color match, and long enough to complete the landing and upstairs hall. Abutting the two rugs as seen here appealed to the homeowners more than performing surgery on the new runner; and provides a natural feeling transition between the two rugs without presenting a trip hazard.
