A lifetime of conditioning makes it difficult to resist responding to "BIG SALE" offers; but the investigative report by the consumer advocate in the link above reveals that, more often than not, "there is no there there": the "sale" price offered is effectively an everyday price because the "sale" never ends; or the "sale" price is actually not the best deal available to you for a product. (We can attest to seeing "liquidation" prices of "up to 85% OFF" (at businesses that were "closing the doors forever") that were significantly higher than the prices on the same items at the same businesses just a short time before the end-it-all sales commenced.)
